The "Spirit of Peoria" paddlewheel steamboat transports us back to the slow, smooth beauty of river travel. The Illinois River was originally used as a main branch of transportation and travel to and from the Peoria area. Steamboats, such as the "Spirit of Peoria" transported people and goods up and down the river to destinations from the Mississippi River and the rest of the continental United States.

As the country moved forward during the railroad boom, so didPeoria, and in November of 1854, the railroad made its way into town. Due to its central location, Peoria was the fourth largest regional hub in the U.S. railway system for many years. During its peak, Peoria served 15 railroads and 70,000 miles of track. In 1891, the Rock Island Depot was built to service this large railroad hub, and it was an integral part of the Peoria railroad until it closed in 1978. Today the depot is a thriving restaurant complex, with exceptional dining, spirits and live music.

Mention the name "Duryea" and many will say, "Oh yes, the automobile that was invented and built in Peoria". But the re-edited book, Charles E. Duryea-Automaker, by George W. May, proves that although the Duryea was the first practical American gasoline powered car, Springfield, Massachusetts was its original home. However, we can take a measure of comfort from the fact thatPeoria was one of several cities in which Duryea automobiles were built. The vehicle produced in the late 1890s, in Peoria, "Peoria Motor Trap", usually in a three-wheel configuration. The T750 is a digital TV tuner than can also display analogue TV signals and tune in to FM Radio. While it provides very good picture quality and has a wealth of features, its software interface is clumsy and takes a little getting used to plus it needs a hdtv antenna.
We tested the T750 using the latest version of its drivers and interface software from Compro’s website. We installed the tuner at two locations in the Sydney metropolitan area. Our first location was in Sydney’s north, less than 2Km from a digital TV transmission tower. From there, the T750 struggled and couldn’t find many channels. The only channel it could pick up wasn’t displayed smoothly with an abundance of stuttering and Mpeg artefacts.

How fast is realistic weight loss?

Not only does the diet restrict calories, and types of foods, it also wants you to drink coffee or tea at every meal, and only 4 cups of water beyond that to lose weight fast and easy. To me that that does not sound like a healthy diet program. Number one, I drink much more water than that every day. I need more water than that. Number 2, I try to avoid caffeine when possible. So, I wouldn’t think this is the best way to lose weight fast. I don’t need caffeine to fuel my body.
