Culturally, Peoria is served by Lakeview Museum which is currently in the midst of a fundraising campaign to move to a prominent downtown location known as the Block. Caterpillar also plans to build a Visitors Center next to the new Museum.
Other arts groups such as the Contemporary Arts Center located on the riverfront offers exhibits as well as live music. The Peoria Art Guild offers exhibits and classes throughout the year plus hosts one of the top art fairs in the country each fall on the riverfront with over 40,000 people in attendance.
Peoria also boasts the longest continually running Santa Parade in the country which is hosted by Peoria Area Community Events (PACE). PACE also hosts several other festivals throughout the year including the Steamboat Festival and Taste of Peoria in the summer months.
